Chimpy books are written and illustrated by James Lacroce, who is an artist and clinical psychologist based in San Francisco. The Chimpy books are a labor of love that take years to complete. The most recent, Chimpy Saves His Neighborhood (2014) involves violence in the LGBT community and a robot. It's an exciting adventure. Chimpy Discovers His Family (2010) is Chimpy's origin story that explains how this chimp was adopted by a gay couple from San Francisco. This story explores the notion of unconditional love, acceptance, and celebration of diversity.
